The KNMV has chosen to run the insurance for licensees through Kröller Boom Assurantiën B.V. Through this website developed especially for the KNMV, licensees can apply for additional accident insurance during training and races both at home and abroad.

Accident Insurance

The age limit for accident insurance is 80 years. From the age of 80, unfortunately, we can no longer offer accident insurance. There is no minimum age.

No, there is no coverage based on the standard license. Still want coverage during free training sessions in the Netherlands? Then close coverage 3.

You can purchase supplemental accident insurance through Kröller Boom. You can purchase this insurance through this website. Then choose coverage 3 on the Accident Insurance page. This coverage also applies abroad.

No. The underwriters do not reimburse costs related to the legally required deductible in the basic insurance, also called Basic Health Insurance.

Yes, if you meet the requirements, you are insured immediately after applying.

No, this is not possible. You pay premium for the period from date of application to December 31 of the same year. Interim termination will not result in a premium refund.

Accidents Abroad

No, you are not insured for this by default. For this, as a licensee, you can purchase your own additional coverage. This can be done through Kröller Boom Assurantiën. For more information, visit the website knmv.krollerboom.co.uk/accident coverage. Then choose coverage 3 or combination coverage.

No, you are not insured for accident coverage. The KNMV has arranged insurance that is only in effect for KNMV licensees who are Dutch residents.

Liability

No. The KNMV collective liability insurance is not valid for free training of participants abroad. The insurance does apply if these trainings are given abroad by the KNMV national coaches.

No, there is no coverage for liability on public roads. Secondary coverage does exist if your own liability insurance does not provide coverage. This addition applies only to Enduro licensees.

VRO Day Insurance

This depends on your insurer. A number of insurers exclude participation in agility or driving courses from coverage. Also consider any high deductible or reduction in discount for claim-free years (BM discount).

No, these are not insured. The Day Insurance only covers damage incurred during training under the supervision of the KNMV. Coverage starts at the start of the training and stops at the (interim) termination of the training.

No, the insurance only covers damage to your motorcycle and any attached accessories such as side cases or top case. Of course, we recommend removing them from the bike before training. Damage not only costs money but is just plain annoying.

No, the insurance only covers hull damage to your motorcycle. Personal injury is not insured.

VRO Day Insurance coverage offers the option of additional motorcycle insurance. A motorcycle also has depreciation on the new-for-old value. Therefore, in consultation with the KNMV and the insurer Allianz, it was decided to set the age limit at 10 years. This means that for motorcycles older than 10 years, counted from the date of first registration, we do not have the ability to offer day insurance.

Yes. As long as the KNMV gives you access to the training and the insurance fits within the underwriting policy, you can insure your motorcycle or other object.

The maximum insured new value is €35,000.00. If the new value or current market value exceeds this amount, you must notify the KNMV or Kröller Boom Assurantiën.

The premium for daily insurance is €96.80 including 21% insurance tax. This premium applies to all VRO training, per day or half-day.
